The Scrub Pub outdid itself Saturday night when Zach Harmon returned for a night of Eagle-esque country music. Boasting three-part harmonies, masterful originals, and a rock and roll guitar player with a talk box who’s got Frampton on lockdown, Zach Harmon and his band conjured up a tasty treat in the form of ear candy for a small but enthralled audience.

The band has been together for “2.78 years” Harmon says jokingly, a reference to the differentiating number of years each player has jammed with another. But don’t let Harmon’s tender age of 22 or the band’s united tenure fool you: individually they’ve got enough experience under their belts to rival chart-toppers statewide.
And with their first CD in the works, the band is sure to be doing just that. Easily one of the most impressive acts I’ve seen in 2008, two questions come to mind: Why aren’t these guys famous yet, and how long until they will be? This isn’t just a marvelous singer with some decent backup and a little rock guitar. This is a band featuring three talented vocalists with harmonies the caliber of The Eagles, and some lead guitar work that perfectly melds ‘80s rock with the band’s modern country.
Just an hour or two up the road, the band calls Abilene its home, and if you didn’t catch them while they were here, the music is well worth the drive.
