Borderline is a local cover band.

Start: 9:30 pm
End: 11:59 pm

There are other things to expect from the band’s tour: Catchy riffs that allude to Rock Greats; Willie Nelson-like love ballads. But it’s the straightforward simplicity of four long-haired good-ol’-boys licking lunch from their fingers on the road that captures the simplicity and honesty that sets them apart. You’ll find no wince-inducing lines about tears in beers on the band’s self-titled album. This is a testimony to the honest, no-frills lyricism of front man Kyle Bennett, whose two most recent breakups have helped form and fuel the band’s course.

Scott Rotge has assembled a more-than-able group of pickers and formed The Scott Rotge Band. It naturally follows that there would be a CD. Yes, there is one. So many times this is where the magic ends, but in Rotge's case, it's just beginning. Their self-titled CD is full of great Texas stories told through solid country music and great songwriting. It's as if Scott Rotge is singing directly to the listener, humbly and modestly becoming a friend rather than forcing his music upon you.
