He started playing acoustic open mic nights at The Blue Light in Lubbock, TX with his fraternity brother Austin (banjo) in January 2006. After a month or two of that, people took notice and told him to get a band together. So he called up two more fraternity brothers (Drew-drums, Neel-Bass) and it just took off from there.
