A reliable country hitmaker for much of the '70s, Johnny Rodriguez was born in Sabinal, TX, in 1951, growing up 90 miles from the Mexican border. His older brother Andres, a big country music fan, bought him a guitar when he was seven, and he was playing and singing by his teens. Rodriguez was captain of his high school football team at 16, but when his father died of cancer, he spiraled out of control, racking up four arrests in two years.

Chute Nine's "Ranch-Rockin' Country" - a rollicking, high-energy mix of new country and exuberant, arena rock - is continuing to win fans across America. While the band's modern country-with-a-kick is not your grandfather's country, the band is uniquely traditional. Chute Nine takes the rich traditions of country music and blends them with a rip-roaring sound that thumps with youthful energy. These are the guys with the hillarious song, "Mexican Dog." Without Mike McClure, the Red Dirt music that we know and love today would most certainly have a different sound to it. He began shaping that sound over a decade ago as the front man of The Great Divide. He continued shaping it as one of the most sought after producers of Red Dirt bands. He is joined by San Angelo's own Darren Morrison for a very unique musical event for the Steel Penny Pub. Morrison’s music is refreshingly more than just, well "country," with hints of the Almond Brothers, Waylon, Arlo Guthrie and even B.B. King, all rolled into one.

Beth and identical twin Linda were born in Feb 1978. Music was always around the house, whether it was her mother's Pavarotti, country, 80s pop, and obscure backwoods banjo; or her two big brothers, Rob and Scotty, blasting Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath or Van Halen thru the walls of the garage, any sort of musical noise permeated her youth. Mom kept a beat-up acoustic she had found cheap on Beale Street around, Beth would steal her guitar books, learn a few basic chords and pluck each string and listen to them vibrate.
