Lubbock performer Charlie Shafter’s music is straight-up folk rock with a tinge of country. The “folk” side of the music gives him broader parameters to express himself and the “rock” thing just spices it all up. The 22-year-old is presently doing about three shows a week, both solo and with his band in Texas and as far north as his home state of Illinois. His latest CD, "17th & Chicago," came out in March 2007 and has done well with the single release, “Tall Tale” spending time on the Cross Country XM Radio channel.
