Santa Rita Young Scholars Art Show at Kendall Gallery The San Angelo Art Club has invited the Santa Rita Elementary School to exhibit the San Rita Young Scholars Art Show at the Kendall Art Gallery, 119 W 1st Street, during the month of April. The show will open Saturday, April 5 and runs through April 26. Gallery hours are Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 1 – 4pm and Wed 9am – 12pm. The show is free to the public (donations are accepted). Texas native Rodney Hayden is good enough to make Robert Earl Keen gush, "Rodney Hayden is a grand slam, double eagle, blackjack talent. He makes me want to give up my night job." Newest album is "Down the Road."

The band sports a name as unusual as its sound. With a set list including “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Where Can My Baby Be?” and a spoof on “Deep in The Heart of Texas,” which made fun of redneck stereotypes, the Subs had an unlikely audience dancing and jamming to their low-end buzz. The band was excellent. Upon closer investigation, they were even better. Headed by frontman Buster Crash, the band includes bassist Lefty DeMarco, “kicking your ass single-handedly.” DeMarco plays with intense skill—without a left hand to hold down the fret board!

With a fanatic base of groupies who call themselves the “Bugota Babes”, the local band B.U.G.O.T.A. (pronounced buh-go-tah) has been ripping up the local live music scene for over four years now. B.U.G.O.T.A.(Butt Ugly Guys on the Attack) covers everything from Jimi Hendrix to Rage Against the Machine and has several originals of their own. The band is made up of four San Angelo natives: Lead vocalist and guitarist, Jerrod Thomas; rhythm guitar and back-up, Charles Reyes; Matt Linton, bass; and drummer Wesley Spradley.
