Santa Rita Young Scholars Art Show at Kendall Gallery The San Angelo Art Club has invited the Santa Rita Elementary School to exhibit the San Rita Young Scholars Art Show at the Kendall Art Gallery, 119 W 1st Street, during the month of April. The show will open Saturday, April 5 and runs through April 26. Gallery hours are Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 1 – 4pm and Wed 9am – 12pm. The show is free to the public (donations are accepted). Texas country music recording star Mark David Manders will be at Tarpley Music from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. signing autographs and meeting with fans. He may even have an impromtu jam session. Come on down to Tarpley Music, 13 W Twohig, in historic downtown San Angelo.

Black tie optional party for Alcohol Awareness and Underage Drinking Prevention Month. Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley and Foster Communications are hosting this first Mocktail Party. Dancing, alcohol-free drinks, door prizes, food, and the Funky Munky Band will provide entertainment. Attendees can submit their own originally named "mocktail" recipe for the on-site contest for $10. Tickets are on sale at ADACCV, $30 for reserved seating, $25 at the door, and $20 in advance. Manders has been in the trenches of the Texas music scene for over 15 years. Well, maybe that should be closer to 17 years. He performed for pay his first time in 1990. He relayed stories about guys who got mean when they had their initial success, and a few more about the dishonesty of some characters he has met in the music business.
