Truck Slides & Flips on U.S. 277

At approximately 6:30 p.m. this evening, a distracted driver rolled a vehicle on U.S. 277.

Officer Dykstra with the Texas Department of Public Safety said he was dispatched to the call and learned a GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on 277 when the driver became distracted and failed to see the railroad crossing coming down. This caused the vehicle’s brakes to lock and throw the truck into a left side skid.

The vehicle came to a stop after rolling onto its left side. There was only one occupant in the vehicle and the driver refused medical treatment. No citations were cited at the moment as the incident is still under investigation.
