There were two vehicles involved: a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup and a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Officer Bylsma said the investigation revealed that the Volkswagen was heading eastbound on Sherwood Way in the center lane when the pickup truck, attempting to make a left turn off of Sherwood Way onto the Frontage Road, failed to yield the right of way to the Volkswagen.

The driver of the pickup was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way while turning left, and both the drivers told Bylsma they plan on going to the hospital by private vehicle.

The intersection will re-open to traffic shortly, said Officer Bylsma.
