UPDATE: TLCA Threat was Prank by Students

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Two minors, one a student at TLCA are to blame for the threat to the school on Sunday according to school administrators.

As we reported late Sunday, a threat was made against the San Angelo Charter School triggering a full scale investigation by the San Angelo Police Department.

Update from TLCA administration:

"What we can share: First, thank you to SAPD, who did a great job investigating and informing the public.

SAPD found that two minors decided it would be fun to do a prank. One of them, who lives in another community, influenced the other to make a post with what looked like a firearm. The investigation provided evidence this was not a firearm, and the one minor who attends TLCA lives in a home with NO firearms.

Both boys could be facing charges, and the student at TLCA will be facing expulsion. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behavior. The student will not be on our school campus.

We plan to have school this morning, and there will be added security. SAPD also said they will be supporting our campus with additional patrols.

Thank you for your patience as we worked through a process to provide you with the facts. We value our TLCA family, and thank you for trusting us with your students."
