Here’s What’s Happening at Lake Nasworthy

SAN ANGELO, TX — Some curious San Angelo LIVE! readers wanted us to investigate what was happening at Lake Nasworthy near the beach on Monday.

We talked to some workers there, who told us they were getting rid of the old Concho Boat Club facility and bringing in a new one.

We reported earlier that the San Angelo City Council approved an increase in the lease amount for the Concho Boat Club.

According to information from the city, the club proposed nearly $500,000 in renovations to replace the crappie house with a new, larger facility on the banks of Lake Nasworthy, located on the southwest side of the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The boat club requested a 25-year lease to accommodate the anticipated lifespan of the new structure, which will double the size of the current crappie house built in the 1970s.

The Concho Boat Club plans to remove the nearly 50-year-old crappie house to make way for a facility with 28 fishing stalls.
