Counting among his influences George Strait, Johnny Cash, Marvin Gaye, Pat Green, Paul Rogers, Gary Allan, Chris Knight, and many others, Mitchell grew up in a musical family and taught himself guitar while in college so he could play and feel comfortable singing in front of people. Since then, this 24-year-old music lover has developed his musical style and voice in venues throughout Texas. Rounding out the TMB quartet are Jonathon Bryant, who has been with Mitchell since the band started; Ty Taylor, a studio musician who Mitchell calls "one of the best young guitar players out there - he can play ANYTHING with strings;" and Paul Laymon, who came to the band via a round of auditions earlier this year.
While this band's roots are planted firmly within Texas Country, their live performance is a mix of heart-pounding country with a rock flare that is unmistakable, and they look to take it wider audience in 2007. "I think we've really matured live," Mitchell says. "We carry ourselves better on stage, the songs themselves are more mature, and we always try to maintain a high energy level onstage for our fans."
