Saturday night, “Midlanders” took San Angelo by storm when they showed up in support of their hometown hero Cody Hughes Davidson at Blaine’s Pub.

Davidson’s no stranger to Blaine’s, and carrying such titles as 2006 Texas Singer and Songwriter of the Year and 2007 Texas Artist of the Year from Payne County Line, it’s not hard to see why fans deem his music worthy of the commute.

Davidson released his first album, “Risky Game,” in December of 2007, and won recognition from Texas Music Times Magazine as one of the best albums of 2008. His first single, title track “Risky Game,” inspired by the ups and downs of the music business, is currently sitting at No.7 for the top 50 most requested tracks of the week on radiofreetexas.org.

If you missed the Cody Hughes Davidson band this time around, he’ll be back at Blaine’s next month, so check out myspace.com/chdtexasoutlawband to keep up to date on where he’ll be playing next.

Listen to my podcast to hear the latest in the Davidson camp; there’s a lot going on for this West Texan.
