November 7, 2007 The San Angelo Civic Ballet is pleased to announce its presentation of Nutcracker 2007 December 7-9, 2007. Nutcracker has always been an exuberant holiday celebration, combining the efforts of dancers, actors, stage and technical crew of all ages and experience levels, with special guest artists from prestigious ballet companies around the country.
Last year, Meghann Bridgeman, Director of SACB, whose ballet roots are in the Alabama Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ball and Ballet Austin introduced her original choreography of the famous Christmas ballet. The changes was received by our community with great enthusiasm.
So what new twist can we offer this year?
How about an extra performance? This year, Nutcracker 2007 will add a 4th performance, a Saturday matinee, to it’s holiday weekend at the historic and beautiful San Angelo City Auditorium.
SACB invites you to come experience the beloved story of Clara and her nutcracker, set to the timeless music of Tchaikovsky. Our special guest artists will include Sara Marr as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Yevgeni Anfinogenov as the Cavalier Prince from The New Orleans Dance Theatre, and Elizabeth Gilbreth as the Dew Drop Fairy from The Dallas Metropolitan Ballet.
You can anticipate the magical swirl of music, dance and theatrics. You will see the joyful energy of the youngest dancers, the excitement of the fabulous guest performers, and share in something special with our family and friends, both on stage and in the audience.
With the added performance, it is now easier than ever to be a part of this Nutcracker 2007.
