Jonny Burke is only 25-years-old and he’s just finished a tour with fellow Texas music artists James McMurtry and headliner Ryan Bingham of Crazy Heart fame. Now based out of Los Angeles, CA, he may be taking the same non-traditional route to fame that his last headliner did. He released an EP record last year, “The Long Haul” (see free mp3 download below), and records his first full album early next year.
Jonny grew up in New Braunfels, TX and is headed home for Christmas. “What the hell, I might as well get a show out of the trip,” Jonny says. He plays Blaine’s Thursday night, Dec. 23.
On the podcast, Jonny fills us in on what Ryan Bingham is really like and shares stories about crowd reactions in New York City to McMurtry’s legendary anthem of the south, “Choctaw Bingo.”
