They’re back! The wildly popular Von Ehrics, the Dallas-based rock and punk rock band with country roots stormed the Texas, then national live music scene for 10 years, starting in 2000. And then, near the beginning of 2010 they went silent. They took seven months off to develop and record their first studio record in years. No live tracks; just pure studio artistry. The result is Two Foot Stomp, with a release date of April 19 and a touring schedule to match this record’s achievement.
“For the first time in our history as a band, we really took our time to make the record we wanted to make.” says front man Robert Jason Vandygriff. “It’s something we’ve never really done before because we’ve always been on the road.”
In this podcast, Jason Vandygriff and Gabe Aguilar (drums) talk about making the record, their early years in Deep Ellum in Dallas, and memories of San Angelo, to include their favorite restaurant in these parts.
