The Colts’ offense banged out 14 hits, recorded four walks and two hit batsmen-both with the bases loaded-and scored in four straight innings from the third to the sixth. Frichter was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, and Rodriguez was 4-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs, and was a triple short of the cycle.

The San Angelo Stampede Express players aren’t the only team members bulking up during the off-season. Demont Burdine, Southwestern (Kansas) grad and former Stampede player, was promoted to coach the Stampede last October. The San Angelo Colts (18-16) fell back to eight games out of first place after losing to the league-leading Alexandria (Louisiana) Aces (26-8) 4-3 in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday night at Bringhurst Field. The Colts have 15 games remaining in the season, nine of which are the against the Aces, who they’ve beaten only twice in 11 meetings after tonight (Aug 7, 2007).
SAN ANGELO, Texas – San Angelo Colts right-hander Brian Henschel has been able to do something no other Colt pitcher has done this season: win against the Alexandria Aces. After Thursday’s series finale, Henschel has now it done twice, as the Colts beat the Aces 5-2 to avoid a four-game series sweep.
SAN ANGELO, Texas – As Yogi Berra would say, Sunday’s game at Foster Field was déjà vu all over again. For the second straight night, the Alexandria Aces came from behind and edged the San Angelo Colts by the score of 4-3.
