SAN ANGELO, TX – A man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly stabbed another man during a fight in front of the Fat Boss's Pub in downtown San Angelo.
According to court documents, on Mar. 29, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block S. Chadbourne for the report of a fight in progress.
When they arrived, officers witnessed a fight in front of the Fat Boss's Pub. After breaking up the fight one of the parties was taken to the hospital for multiple stab wounds and lacerations.
Officer spoke with two witnesses who said that they were with the man who was stabbed inside of the pub. Also in the bar was Edward Holden, 36, the man accused of stabbing the victim.
Prior to the fight Holden was kicked out of the pub and was waiting outside the bar. Once the group left the bar to go home, Holden made a derogatory remark to the one of the witnesses' girlfriend. After the remark the witness and the victim began exchanging words with Holden.
The witness told police that Holden then punched one guy in the face and then pulled a knife. A fight ensued and the three landed on the ground. The fight continued until police arrived.
In the affidavit officers state that the victim was laying on the ground bleeding profusely from the right side of his neck. Officers applied pressure when they arrived on scene and then the victim was taken to Shannon. He did not receive life threatening injuries.
Officers did not speak to Holden at the scene. In the report the officer stated that he didn't talk to him due to Holden's apparent combative nature and intoxication level.
Holden was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond is set at $250,000.
