Police: Suspect Arrested & Two Women Injured in Accidental Northside Shooting

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department released more details on the accidental shooting that occurred around noon at the Stripes Convenience Store located at 19th Street and Armstrong St.

On Thursday, Oct. 14 at 12:45 p.m., Officers were dispatched to 802 E. 19th street (Stripes) in reference to a shooting victim.

Officers arrived on scene and located two female Stripes employees with non-life threatening injuries from a single fragmented bullet. Officers learned that another Stripes employee, 22-year-old Kamron Ransom, had an accidental discharge of his 9mm handgun and that the bullet had struck the floor of the business.

It was learned that the bullet fragmented upon striking the floor and struck one female victim on the back portion of both her legs. The other female victim was struck by the fragmented bullet on her left arm and her legs as well.

Both female victims were transported to Shannon Medical Center downtown by ambulance to receive treatment for their injuries as the officers on scene detained Kamron pending further investigation.

The San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division as well as the Crime Scene Division arrived on scene to assist with the investigation.

Both victims received treatment for their injuries at Shannon and were ultimately released prior to the conclusion of this investigation.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Kamron was taken into custody for City Warrants as well as Discharging a Firearm within the City limits.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division advised that additional charges for Kamron may be forthcoming.
