POSITION OVERVIEW:

The CCF Maintenance position works under the general supervision of the Residential Facility Director and is responsible for building maintenance and maintenance records of CCF vehicles. Maintains and repairs CCF property and equipment.


THE CONCHO VALLEY CSCD-CCF IS A DRUG FREE WORK ENVIRONMENT. ALL PERSONS SELECTED FOR POSSIBLE EMPLOYMENT SHALL SUBMIT TO A DRUG SCREEN FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, FAILURE OF THE DRUG SCREENING WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL OF ANY AND ALL OFFERS OF EMPLOYMENT.

CONCHO VALLEY COMMUNITY SUPERVISION AND CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT

MAINTENANCE
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:.

1. Maintains and repairs the following, but not limited to: plumbing fixtures,
toilets, sinks, showers, supply and drainage systems, furniture, doors,
windows and locks, grounds maintenance equipment/machines.
2. Maintains and repairs the following laundry and kitchen equipment, but not
limited to: Dishwashers, garbage disposals, range/ovens, grills, mixers, deep
fryers, clothes washing machines and dryers.
3. Diagnose and repairs basic/advanced electrical, to include, but limited to the
following: exit and emergency lighting systems, thermostats, ballasts, breaker
boxes, relays, switches, and fuses.
4. Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC, chilled and hot water systems, and
refrigeration. Preventative maintenance on same.
5. Compiles list of needed parts and supplies needed for repairs and coordinates
with Purchasing Director to purchase supplies.
6. Prioritizes all assignments and completes tasks in a timely manner.
7. Maintains CCF vehicle mileage logs.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
9. Conducts self in a professional manner with colleagues in the criminal justice
system, with offenders, with victims, and with the public.
10. Complies with the CJAD Standards; Residential Code of Ethics; Departmental
policies and procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Have acquired a high school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years’ experience in Building/Vehicle maintenance required.
Be able to work independently and efficiently.
Be able to make constructive suggestions that could enhance the structure/operation of
the CCF.
Possess skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift and move about the facility freely and unassisted.

Be able to lift up to 50 pounds; work in indoor and outdoor conditions which can include
cold/hot temperatures, high noise levels, dirt, dust, and fumes; manual dexterity, visual
acuity, and hearing ability required; withstand long periods of bending, reaching,
walking, standing, carrying, and climbing.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays on-call.


SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the practices and procedures of advanced building maintenance.
Knowledge of appliance repair, small engine repair, drywall, welding, HVAC, plumbing,
and electrical.
Ability to read and understand instructions, specifications, gauges, blueprints, and wiring
diagrams.
Ability to repair and maintain HVAC independently.
Ability to use power and hand tools to make necessary repairs.
Ability to take direction and critique from supervisory personnel
Ability to follow the philosophy, policies, procedures and directives of the Concho
Valley Community Supervision and Corrections Department and Community Corrections
Facilities

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License (if employee is coming to this position from
another state, this requirement must be met no later than thirty days following date of
employment)
Must have a telephone number at which they can be reached
Must have the appropriate automobile insurance
Must maintain appropriate dress and appearance as indicated in Concho Valley
Community Supervision and Corrections Department policies
