The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved a Fire Management Assistance Grant for the 8 Ball Fire burning in the Texas Panhandle, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Friday.
Wildfires that have raged across Kansas and the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma have burned more than 300,000 acres this week — and fire weather conditions are expected to worsen.
Gov. Greg Abbott announced that the Governor’s Public Safety Office has awarded $149 million to Texas Tech University to support development of an electromagnetic pulse testing site and cybersecurity infrastructure enhancements.
“The TEFA program receiving more than 100,000 applications in less than two weeks proves that families overwhelmingly want school choice,” said Governor Abbott.
