Eldona Jean Banks passed away in the early morning June 24th, in El Paso Tx. She suffered a terrible fall on June 6th and fought as hard as she could for 18 days. A-fib, pneumonia and lung problems finally were too much for a brave little lady.
Jean was born on July 30th, 1943, in San Angelo to Al and Elizabeth Lamoree. She lived in San Angelo and Round Rock, Tx as a little girl.
She married Weston C. Wolff in 1961 and was married to him for 6 years, having two girls together, Kimberly and Tamela.
In 1970, Jean married John Banks who was a Long-Haul Trucker, and she took care of the girls and her home. In 1973 Lisa was born to Jean and John.
After the girls were all grown and out of the house, they moved to Aledo where they lived until 2017 when they sold their home and hit the road in their Motorhome. They traveled extensively through the Western USA –but Jean especially loved the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico.
Jean loved babies, “America’s Funniest Home Videos”, and a hot slot machine. But most of all she loved her family and the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Tamela Long, stepdaughter Janielle Whitmer, and granddaughter, Tiffany Long.
She is survived by her loving husband, John, daughters Kimberly Long of Kerrville and Lisa Parlow (and Tim) of Weatherford, son-in-law Rickie Long (and Stacey), granddaughter Amber Chapman (and Beau), Caleb Long (and Caroline), Cameron Long (and Amanda), Caegan Long and 5 great grandchildren. Oh and one little dog, Sully.
Jean will be available for viewing from 12:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home (2606 Southland Blvd.) The family will receive friends from 11:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
