On Friday, February 23, 2024, James Scott Heroy was called home to the Lord. He was born on October 23, 1964, to Sidney Peter Heroy and Donna L. Heroy in New Brunswick, NJ. He is survived by Angie Heroy; son, Colten Heroy and his wife, Arabella Heroy, and their son, Noah; daughter, Rebekah Heroy; sister, Cathy Wood and her husband Twig Wood; sister, Kelly Olgetree; and brother, Matthew Heroy. He was also a light to his many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much as well as his entire church family.
In his early years, he enjoyed competing in bull riding events and worked at the stockyards in San Antonio before finally settling in San Angelo. There, he worked at Producers for many years until eventually he answered the call to be an LVN where he could show his kindness and love to others in need. In 1990, he attended and quickly became a pivotal member of Immanuel Baptist church. His strong faith in the Lord drove him to serve wherever was needed, including driving the bus, organizing the greeters and offertory, teaching Sunday school lessons, and most recently becoming a Deacon of the church. Scott’s pride and joy were his children and he delighted in their accomplishments. He took great pleasure in the latest news of his first grandchild.
Visitation will be at Johnson’s Funeral Home, on Wednesday, February 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held the following morning at 10:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church. From there, everyone will proceed to Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens for the burial. Scott Heroy was a man of faith and a beloved family member. He will be greatly missed.
