Gary Weatherby of San Angelo passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on February 14, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Marvin and Anna Leigh (Richburg) Weatherby.
He grew up in Miles, Texas where he graduated from Miles High School in 1962. He went to San Angelo College and Texas Tech University. In 1967, Gary married Donna Caffey. He worked for and retired from International Steel Worker Union as a representative covering Oklahoma and West Texas. Gary also delivered meals with Meals for the Elderly and was an active member of the Miles Lions Club.
Gary was promoted to Pa Pa in 1968 to his daughter Robin and three beautiful grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, fishing, the Astros, the Spurs, and RVing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna; daughter, Robin Weatherby Martin of San Angelo; grandson Alex Martin who is in the Army in Virginia; In-Laws, Tommie Weatherby, Laura Brown (Charles), Leslie Nixon, Valerie Nixon; Mother, Bernice Pruitt, Packy Fairless, Judy Nishitani, Karen Jones (Jay), and Luke Effinger of Evansville; special nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Mitchel Martin; granddaughter, Megan Martin; Brother, Bill Weatherby; Father-In-Law, Charles Effinger; Mother-In-Law, Olga Effinger; Lana McCole and Gary Caffey.
A celebration of life with be April 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Miles Methodist Church in Miles, Texas.
