Betty Fern Harris (née Hall), age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in Sweetwater, Texas. A devoted Christian and beloved matriarch, Betty lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
Born on November 28, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Leslie Roy Hall and Leole Hall, Betty grew up with strong values that would guide her throughout her life. She pursued higher education at Texas Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics - a field that reflected her deep care for home and community.
Betty married Billy F. Harris and together they build a loving family. They were blessed with 60 beautiful years together. Though Billy preceded her in death, along with their son James C. Harris and her brother Butch Hall, Betty's legacy continues through the generations she nurtured with unwavering love.
A faithful member of Johnson Street Church of Christ in San Angelo for many years, Betty dedicated herself to teaching the third-grade Bible class - a role she cherished deeply. Her commitment extended beyond the classroom through active involvement with World Bible School, where she helped spread the message of faith across the globe. Her kind spirit and steadfast devotion left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Martin Harris and his partner Larry Sealy of Lewisville, Texas; daughter Linda (Harris) Seago and husband Dale of Sweetwater, Texas; granddaughter Traci Hernandez and husband Gilbert of Eastland; grandson Ryan Seago of Odessa; granddaughter Jennifer English and husband Justin of Washington State; granddaughter Kersita Cowan and husband Ryan of Cleburne; great-granddaughters Celeste Neel and husband Chase of Eastland, Gabriella Hernandez of Eastland, Ella Smithey and husband Seth of San Angelo, Katilyn Cowan of Cleburne, and Samara; great-grandsons Isaiah Hernandez and wife Alexis of Weatherford, Malachi Hernandez of Eastland, and Les; four great-great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Sunday October 12, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas 76903. A graveside service will be held on Monday October 13, 2025 at 11 AM at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM 1223, San Angelo, Texas 76905.
Betty Fern Harris will be remembered as a kind-hearted woman whose life was a testament to love, faithfulness, and grace. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
