Jessie Garza Valencia, 89, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Valencia was born August 29, 1936 in San Angelo to Donaciano and Natalia Garza. She grew up in San Angelo until she was a teenager and her and her family moved to San Jose, California in 1950. Jessie married Agustin Valencia on July 24, 1971, in San Jose and returned to San Angelo in 1981. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Morning Glory's. Jessie helped serve the church by doing funeral rosaries. Jessie loved to dance, listen to music and greatly enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She worked at Park Plaza Nursing home for 15 years before retiring in 1998.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Agustin Valencia; her four daughters, Nancy Guzman and husband Frank of Merced, California; Emma St. Antoine and husband Randall of Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, Brenda Baca, and Esmeralda Martinez and husband Manuel all of San Angelo; her three sons, Garry Baca, Eddie Baca both of Las Vegas, and Victor Baca of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, Tina Guzman, Francis Medina, Monica Guzman, Anthony Solis, Dominic Solis, Desiree Sotelo, Joseph Sotelo, Steven Martinez and Daniella Martinez; 12 great grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Eva DelReal and husband Robert of New Braunfels; three brothers, Don Garza of San Jose, Frank Garza of Tacoma, Washington, and Rick Garza and wife Bonnie of Granite Bay, California. She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved very much. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alan Baca, a granddaughter, Vanessa St. Antoine, a brother, Carlos Garza, and a sister, Connie Nelson, a sister-in-law Theresa Garza.
Jessie will be greatly missed by her family and friends; her smile and laughter will live in our hearts forever.
