Reverend Oscar Jaso Bejil, 78, was called to the Lord on Friday May 2, 2026, at his home in San Angelo. He was born on March 4, 1948, to the late Brijida Jaso and Jose Bejil in San Angelo. After graduating from Midland High School, he married and served in the Army. Upon returning, he joined the ministry and devoted 45 years of serving the Lord that included being a pastor of 4 different churches and serving as a hospice chaplain. He furthered his devotion to God by authoring three books about his faith, salvation, and serving God. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Catherine Vasquez Bejil, of San Angelo; his brother; Jose “Joe” Bejil of Midland, two children; Oscar R Bejil (Yvonne Gomez) of Midland and Melissa A Bejil (Leonard Lee) of Sugar Land; their mother, Elia Jasso of Midland; four step children: Adrian Sanchez (Eva Castro), of Hurlburt Field, Florida; Uriah Sanchez of Odessa; Regina Vasquez (David Palma), of Odessa; Ixchel Prieto (Brandon Kennedy) of Odessa. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Nathan, Mia, Emy, Hannah, Zayden, Ava, Davion, Vinny, Dreyson, Cruz, Ellyana, Ava, and Ezra, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 8 at the Nazareth Presbyterian Church located at 313 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76903. Officiating the service will be his brother, Jose A “Joe” Bejil.
