Heraclio “Harry” Perez passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas, on May 3, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Harry was born in San Angelo, Texas, on January 29, 1939. He married Heriberta "Bertha" Cerda on April 15, 1961.
Harry proudly served in the U.S. Army from January 1957 to January 1960, earning the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Badge (Rifle). In addition, he also earned the Army of Occupation Medal for service in Berlin during the Cold War.
After his military service, he returned to San Angelo, where he worked at the Lone Star Gas Company, Gandy’s Dairy, Olive Nursery and Ethicon, from which he eventually retired. Harry was known for his strong and steady work ethic, a value he instilled in his three children. Among his many skills, he earned a welder’s license and was exceptionally handy. He took great pride in his home—his well-manicured lawn, his fireplace, his enormous TV room, his billiard room, and especially his favorite space: the garage, fully stocked with welding equipment and every tool imaginable.
Harry was an avid golfer with two confirmed hole-in-ones and was a member of the Pan American Golf Association. His faith was an important part of his life; he was a devoted parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
