Candelaria G. Mendoza, of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, May 28th, 2026.
Viewing will be from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday June 5, 2026 at Calvery Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mendoza was born on February 2, 2026, in San Marcus Texas to Juan and Ramon Velazquez Garcia. Her career in healthcare began working for Shannon Medical Center as an Environmental Services/Housekeeper. Candelaria Garcia married Ysidro C. Mendoza in January of 1953.
She will always be remembered for loving to be around family, listening to music, her impeccable hair and make-up, sitting at the end of the table looking out the window and watching novellas.
She was preceded in death her husband, Ysidro C. Mendoza; her sons, Miguel G. Mendoza, Alfred Mendoza Sr., Thomas Mendoza, Richard Mendoza, Antonio Mendoza; and two daughters, Katie Gonzales and Christella Mendoza; her parents, Juan and Ramona V. Garcia; her brothers, Pedro Garcia, Miguel Garcia, Raul Garcia, Frederico Garcia, and Fidel Garcia; and her sisters, Gavina Garcia, Beatrice Garcia, Antonia Vasquez, Anita Frausto; and several brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her Sisters-in-law, Fernanda Garza of Sweetwater and Della Garcia of San Angelo; her children, Maria Estrada and Grace Zubia of Dumas, Vivian and Frank Martinez of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Lolita Estrada, Juan Pablo Tristan, Natalia Tristan, Victor Tristan Jr., Alfred Mendoza Jr, Ysidro Mendoza, Andrew Mendoza, Becky Mendoza, Ralphie Estrada, Miguel A. Mendoza, Alma and Jesus De La Cruz, Dolores Mendoza; a special granddaughter and her family, Brenda and Jose Mata, Joe Jr, Miguel, Myra, Mikayla, Isabelle, Leigh and Amaya Mata; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be Alfred Mendoza Jr, Joe Mata Jr, Israel Cajas, Ysidro Mendoza, Miguel F. Mata, Pedro Garcia Jr., Ralphie Estrada.
The family would also like to thank Hospice of San Angelo, the Sagecrest staff, Clint (baby/guero), Mark (El Dotorcito) Kelly, Lucy, Andrea, Lisa, and many others I know we have left out.
