Loren James Bridgeman, 86, passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on April 2, 1940, in Quincy, Illinois, and was a resident of San Angelo, Texas. Loren walked through life faithful-footed in the kingdom of heaven, steady in devotion and anchored in the hope he held close.
From his earliest days stocking shelves in the family store in Quincy, Loren carried a strong work ethic into every season of life. After graduating high school, he answered the call to serve and went on to serve in the Navy, the Marines, and ultimately the Air Force. During his Air Force service, he served in Vietnam as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Commander. His career began in the medical field and, fittingly, ended there as well. Loren retired from Goodfellow AFB on March 1, 1983, as a Master Sergeant.
Loren married his first wife, Ann Bridgeman, and together they had three children: Michael Bridgeman, Mitchell Bridgeman (Venice), and Michelle Tubbs (Jerry). In 1980, Loren and Ann parted ways, yet their love for their children remained. In 1983, Loren was stationed and transferred to San Angelo, Texas, where he worked at Goodfellow and would later retire. While in San Angelo, and although he wasn’t looking, God was, and Loren met the love of his life, Carolyn Jean Bush. They loved each other deeply, and on Wednesday, June 17, 1983, they were married. Forty-three years after the day they married, Loren went home to his wife—his best anniversary gift.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Bridgeman; his parents, Dorthy and Loren “Bud” Bridgeman; and his brothers, Ronald and Jerry Bridgeman.
He is survived by his children, Michael Bridgeman, Mitchell Bridgeman (Venice), and Michelle Tubbs (Jerry); grandchildren, Christopher Robillard, Collin Higgins, Jerry Robillard, Eugene Montenz Bridgeman, and Kerri Ann Bridgeman; and great-grandchildren, Kaylissa Robillard, Christopher Robillard Jr., Robert Robillard, and Caiden Robillard.
Loren will be remembered as the greatest father of all time—devoted, present, and generous in the quiet ways that mattered most. He took special joy in caring for his children and spending time with family, and he was known for spoiling those he loved with little gifts that spoke volumes.
Fishing was a lifelong love, enjoyed from childhood well into his 80s, and he also cherished travel and time shared with family. Loren also gave beyond his home, often donating to organizations such as the Children’s Miracle Network.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Concho Hearts Hospice for their care; to Avir of San Angelo for continuous caregiving in the nursing home; and to the wonderful ladies at the Pic & Pac on 87 North—who truly loved him—for their compassion and for helping him through everything, good and bad.
In Loren’s own words: “Love each other and never forget your lord and savior.”
