Rashad Dupree Chance passed away on August 10, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on March 19, 1981, in Ogden, Utah.
While Rashad was growing up, his family relocated to Atlanta, GA., and then San Angelo, TX in 1991. He attended schools in San Angelo where he became a gifted athlete and excelled in both football and track. His natural athletic ability, determination, and competitive spirit made him a standout athlete and earned him the admiration of those around him. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 2000. After High School he attended Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas and graduated in 2002.
Rashad moved back to San Angelo, Texas where he began a career at HEB. He eventually worked his way up to Manager and continued his career for 23 years with the company before his passing.
In his spare time, he loved cooking, listening to music and creating tracks music, and especially going to the gym and weightlifting. He often encouraged physical fitness with his family and friends. Rashad also loved social media and recording Tik Tok for his followers where he expressed his famous "alter ego's" like "Chocolate Daddy," "Captain Chocolate," "Chocolate Bachelor," "Chocolate Badger" and "The Chocolate Rashad Way!"
Rashad had a magnetic personality. He was great encourager and leader to all those he met. If you encountered Rashad, you left his presence feeling uplifted and special!
Rashad was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Evelyn Chance, his mother Carolyn Chance, his 3 uncles, Larry Chance, Noel Russell Chance, Randy Chance and his Aunt, Della Ward.
He is survived by his Brother, Christopher Chance of San Angelo; his sister, Ayishe Chance, of San Angelo; his nephew, Ja'Quan White, of San Angelo; and numerous cousins, and other family members and friends.
Rashad will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 12:00 P.M., Friday, August 21, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
