Glenn Dean Linton passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the age of 88. Glenn was born on December 22, 1937 in Pottsville, Arkansas to Amos and Pearl Alston Linton. Glenn was the second oldest of six children born to Amos and Pearl.
When Glenn was a small child his family moved to Florence, Arizona, where he grew up, graduating from Florence Union High School in May of 1955. After high school Glenn enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic until his honorable discharge on December 16, 1959. While stationed in Del Rio, Texas, he and his Air Force buddy, Rick Heller, traveled to San Angelo to attend a church youth function where they met Beverly Curry and her friend Joyce Luedtke (later to become Joyce Heller). Glenn and Beverly married on June 23, 1959 and were married for 56 years until her death on September 18, 2015.
Glenn worked for Mitsubishi Air Craft in San Angelo for many years until its closing, then he and Beverly moved to California where a friend, Yasou Suzuki, had helped him obtain a job with another air craft company. This only lasted a year and they moved back to San Angelo to be near family again. Upon returning to San Angelo, Glenn worked for S & O Oil Company.
Glenn loved to dance. He and Beverly took dancing lessons and started dancing until her health declined. A couple of years after Beverly’s passing he started getting out again and met some new friends that loved to dance as well, and he began dancing at the Rio Concho Patio Home dances, as well as the VFW and Station 618. Glenn also loved NASCAR and football, but above all he loved God and his family. He will be dearly missed.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, his parents Amos and Pearl Linton, his siblings Kenneth Linton, Lonnie Linton, Bobbie Linton and Barbara Nichols, and his special friend and dance partner, Aletha (Babe) Beyerlein. Glenn is survived by his sister, Linda Harville of Arizona; his son, Greg Linton and wife Pam; his daughter Rebecca Hopkins and husband Morris; grandsons Matthew Linton and John Hopkins; and 3 great granddaughters (Adelayne, Alayna and Lakyn Linton) all of San Angelo.

Visitation will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard, San Angelo, Texas on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3536 Lutheran Way, San Angelo, Texas on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allan Eckert officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Hwy 1223, San Angelo, Texas.
