Jackie "Jack" Turner, Sr., 97, passed away, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in San Angelo.
Public Viewing will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 28, 2026, at Pioneer Memorial Park in Grape Creek with Pastor Jim Bush, chaplain of Baptist Memorial, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner was born April 8, 1929 in Heavener, Oklahoma. Jack married Wanda Scott Anthony on February 12, 1962 in Lubbock, moving to Carlsbad in 1984 where they lived to enjoy retirement. Jack was a carpenter by trade and worked for many builders including Lee Lewis Construction, Templeton Construction and Biggerstaff Construction retiring in 1990. Jack loved spending time with his grandchildren and extended family. He loved fishing.
Survivors include his son, Jack Turner, Jr. and wife Shannon of Lubbock; three daughters, Jackie Schneider and husband Wayne of Carlsbad, Debbie Rainey of Lubbock and Becky Fahntrapp and husband Joe of Carlsbad; his sister, Pat Williams of Ballinger; 9 grandchildren, Tammy Vretis and husband Jim, Wayne Jordan and wife Janet, Sherri Bailey and husband Michael, Randy Scheider, Ariel Turner, Kristye Adams and husband Jeff, Brandon Kent and wife Miranda, Jennifer Wylie, and Devin Rainey and wife Crystal; 17 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda Turner; a daughter, Sharon Anthony in 1969; a great grandson, Jacob Bailey; a great grand daughter, Destiny Kent; 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
