San Angelo Tourism Leader Appointed to Texas Travel Industry Association's (TTIA) Board of Directors

SAN ANGELO, TX — Diann Bayes, Vice President of the San Angelo Convention & Visitors Bureau, was recently named to a three-year term to the Texas Travel Industry Association's (TTIA) Board of Directors.

TTIA is the umbrella organization and advocate for the travel and tourism industry in Texas. Bayes previously served as the Senior Vice President of Membership and Development for the association.

Bayes' stated, "It is an honor to serve on TTIA's Board of Directors. As a former employee of the association, I know how much goes into the staff and board's efforts to work for travel and tourism businesses across the state of Texas. With more than 1 million employees in the industry in the Lone Star State."

Travel and tourism jobs are important to Texas and to San Angelo, Bayes said. "Our community represents more than 3,100 travel and tourism jobs and if not for visitor spending in our city, each household would pay an additional $399 in taxes per year."

TTIA plays an important role in telling the story of the importance of the travel and tourism industry and the economic impact it has on Texans, according to Bayes.

"I look forward to working with the staff and the board members from across the state as I represent the Concho Valley and West Texas in this great organization," she said.
