SAN ANGELO, TX – Construction is moving along at the newest Whataburger restaurant in San Angelo.
As previously reported, in October 2022, the City of San Angelo Building and Inspections Department received a permit to construct a $2.8 million Whataburger at 5855 Sherwood Way.
This location is directly in front of Kohl's in the “Shop at Sherwood” shopping center. This will be the fourth Whataburger in town.
The job site superintendent was absent while San Angelo LIVE was on the scene Friday morning, but the popular restaurant is expected to open very soon. It appears concrete work and paving the parking lot are the most significant construction projects remaining.
Whataburger, a Texas favorite, has "all time favorite" and limited time offers such as "Whatawings," the Whataburger Patty Melt, the Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich, and the Green Chile Double.
Harmon Dobson opened the first location in Corpus Christi, Texas.
In 2019, Chicago company BDT Capital Partners, LLC, took over the fan favorite.
