SAN ANGELO, TX — Construction on the LongHorn Steakhouse near Sunset Mall is projected to finish by late summer or early fall, according to Sendero Cross, the company developing the site.
Once complete, the building will be turned over to LongHorn to begin the hiring and training process.
“They come in, they hire and train and do all the things necessary,” a Sendero Cross representative said. “I think they’re gonna probably hire, probably 125 to 150 people… that process takes a minute.”
The restaurant will not open immediately after construction ends. LongHorn will take possession of the completed building and handle interior setup and staffing. No official opening date has been announced.
The project, located at 3980 W. Loop 306, received its commercial building permit from the City of San Angelo on Jan. 28. The estimated construction cost was listed at $2.4 million in the city’s December 2024 permit report.
LongHorn Steakhouse has been listed as a pending project in multiple city records over the past three years, first appearing in May 2022.
The national chain, founded in Atlanta in 1981, operates more than 500 locations across the United States.
