SAN ANGELO, TX — More than 250 guests laced up their best sneakers and partied the night away at the Fourth Annual Brighter Minds, Brighter Future Sneaker Ball held Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the historic Cactus Hotel in downtown San Angelo.
The San Angelo WHIT Program hosted the lively fundraiser to support its unique mission: providing free, one-on-one tutoring in math and reading to children in foster care across the area. The program pairs foster youth with dedicated volunteer tutors to help them catch up academically, build confidence, and succeed in school.
Guests enjoyed an evening full of fun and purpose, including delicious catering from Roots at the Silo, signature drinks, a silent auction, the popular Heads or Tails game, a Price is Right-style game, and a live auction — all benefiting the WHIT Program’s important work.
Organizers encouraged attendees to “join us for the most fun you can have on a Thursday night,” and the crowd delivered, turning the Cactus Hotel ballroom into a stylish, high-energy celebration where sneakers met purpose.
Proceeds from the event will help sustain the WHIT Program’s weekly tutoring sessions, which are offered at no cost to children referred primarily through Child Protective Services.
The WHIT Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to brighter futures for San Angelo’s foster children — one tutoring session at a time.
