Changing of the Guard: Judge Floyd, Commissioner Ford Act at Last Court Hearing

 

SAN ANGELO – Tom Green County Judge Steve Floyd gaveled his final meeting to a close Tuesday morning as he and Commissioner Bill Ford presided over their final meeting as Tom Green County Elected Officials during the regular meeting of the Tom Green County Commissioners Court.  

Judge Floyd and Commissioner Ford will end their terms on Dec. 31, 2022 and Judge Elect Lane Carter and Commissioner Elect Shawn Nanny will be sworn in January 1, 2023 to the next four year terms. 

Floyd ends 34 years as an elected judge in Tom Green County.  Here is a look back at his career. 

Commissioner Ford was defeated in a runoff election in May by Shawn Nanny.  Ford served as Tom Green County Commissioner, Pct. 4 since 2012.  

New Tom Green County Judge Lane Carter and new Pct. 4 Commissioner Shawn Nanny will preside on the bench during their first meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.
