Tractor Snags Power Line Near Mereta

 

A farm tractor caused power to be lost to residents south of Mereta this afternoon.

Learned from inspecting the scene, a tractor hooked a power line and snapped an overhead power line pole. There were 12-15 customers who lost power. An AEP foreman on the scene said they should have power restored by 3 p.m.

The Approximate location of the incident:

The accident happened just after 12 p.m. on FM 1692 near FM 765 south of Mereta. There were no injuries.
