31-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Comanche County

 

Another driver lost his life this morning after veering off the roadway and crashing into an 18-wheeler in Comanche County, about 1 mile west of the Erath County line.

According to a Department of Public Safety press release, the driver of a 2004 Peterbilt truck/tractor pulling a trailer, Daniel Joseph Wolf, 54, of Windthorst, was traveling east on SH-6 at 9:40 a.m. this morning. At the same time, Ricardo Alegria Jr., 31, of Deleon was traveling west on SH-6 in a 2001 Chevrolet pickup. Alegria Jr. veered into the eastbound lane and struck Wolf’s truck on the left side fuel tank, and in front of the rear axles of the truck.

DPS officials said Wolf did not sustain injuries; however, Alegria Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the crash is under investigation.
