Two Crashes Delayed Traffic on Sherwood Way and Sunset

SAN ANGELO, TX - This afternoon, Officer Loudermilk of the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to a major crash on Sherwood and Sunset. Both of the drivers were taken to local hospital with minor non-incapacitating injuries.

According to Officer Loudermilk, the driver of an Envoy attempted to make a left turn on a yellow flashing arrow while the driver of a Saturn was traveling eastbound on Sunset, and that's when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Envoy was transported to Community Medical Center to be treated for a minor leg injury, and the driver of the Saturn was taken to Shannon to be treated for hand injuries caused by the air bag deploying.

Another collision occurred at the same time when a vehicle waiting for the red light at the intersection was rear ended. Hence, officers had to deal with that crash as well.

The driver of the Envoy was issued a citation for failing to yield during a left turn, and the vehicle involved in the rear end collision got a citation for failing to control speed.
