San Angelo Woman Killed in Weekend Plane Crash

 

WELLINGTON, TX – The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating a weekend plane crash that killed two people, including one San Angelo woman.

The plane crash occurred Saturday afternoon shortly after taking off from an airport near Wellington,Texas said Sergeant Cindy Barkley with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Sgt. Barkley also confirmed that the plane carried two passengers: Claton Miller, 28, of Wellington, and his passenger, Danna Wilhelm, 40, who both died in the crash.

The plane, a Bellanca 7GCBC Citabria, “overturned and crashed in a field just south of the airport,” said Sgt. Barkley. She added, “S witness told investigators that Miller banked to make a turn after takeoff and lost control of the plane.” High winds were also an issue at the time of the crash.

According to public records obtained by KTXS, Miller lived in Abilene for a few year before moving to Wellington.
