All Passengers Killed in Head-On Crash

 

WINGATE, TX – Three people are dead following a head-on crash on State Highway 153 that occurred Saturday afternoon. 

According to the Texas Department on Public Safety, on October 3 at around 3:35 p.m., troopers with the DPS were dispatched to SH 153, 14 miles northwest of Wingate, for the report of a major crash.

When the troopers arrived, they found a 2020 Nissan Murano and a 2015 Ford Taurus that had crashed in the middle of the roadway. In the Nissan two passengers were found dead and in the Ford one passenger was foud dead. 

In the Nissan were Edwin Samuel Beezer, male, 56, of Bandera and Shannon Marie Beezer, female, 48, of Bandera. In the Ford was Crystal Ann Yepe, female, 25, of Lubbock. All three bodies were taken to Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home in Sweetwater. 

Further investigation revealed that the Ford was traveling North on SH-153 while the Nissan was traveling South. The Ford crossed the center line and crashed into the Nissan in the southbound lane.

The occupants in the Nissan were wearing their seatbelt while the driver of the Ford was not. 

SH 153 is marked at 75 mph at the location of the crash. The road was dry and the sky was clear at the time of the crash.
