26-Year-Old Killed in Head-On Crash

 

ODESSA, TX – The Odessa Police Department has confirmed the death of a 26-year-old following a head-on crash. 

According to CBS7, on Oct. 22, officers with the Odessa Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of East 7th Street for the report of a major crash. 

When they arrived they found a blue Chevrolet 1500 and a red Lincoln MKX that had crashed in the middle of the roadway. 

Both vehicles were only occupied by one person. Both of the drivers were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Lincoln, 26-year-old Abigail Rueda, died early Friday morning due to her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, 35-year-old Domenic Sanchez, is still in critical condition. 

Police say that Sanchez was traveling west on 7th Street in a blue Chevrolet 1500 while Rueda was traveling east in the westbound lanes at a high rate of speed in a red Lincoln MKX. The two vehicles then crashed head-on.
