SAPD Identifies Motorcyclist Killed Wednesday Night

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has identified the motorcyclist killed in Wednesday night's crash at a busy San Angelo intersection.

According to SAPD, the crash occurred at the intersection of West Ave L and S. Bryant Blvd at 9:30 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located 33-year-old Casey Wood who was unresponsive and a bystander performing CPR on Wood.

Officer applied a CAT Tourniquet and continued CPR, but Wood succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Wood was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard.

The preliminary investigation revealed Wood was traveling north on S. Bryant on a 2009 Yamaha YZF motorcycle when he collided with a white 2016 Dodge Charger who was turning east at the intersection at Ave L from S. Bryant Boulevard. The investigation revealed Wood was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the Charger, a 24-year-old San Angelo man, was not injured in the crash. The investigation is currently on-going.
