Intoxicated Driver Severely Injures Passengers

 

MIDLAND, TX – After sending two people to the hospital, a woman driver has been charged with intoxication assault.

According to the Midland Police Department, around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Front St for reports of a major motor vehicle accident.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a Jeep Wrangler that had rolled.

The driver of the Wrangler, identified as Alvarie Nunez, and her two passengers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. According to police, the front passenger and backseat passenger suffered life-threatening injuries.

The subsequent investigation revealed Nunez was traveling east on Front St. when the Wrangler left the roadway and crashed into a pole. The vehicle then returned to the roadway and rolled.

Law enforcement confirmed none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Additionally, Nunez was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Nunez was arrested after she was released from the hospital and booked into the Midland County Jail.
