WATCH: Crashes During Lunch Hour Shut Down Busy Intersections

SAN ANGELO, TX – Crashes at two busy intersections slowed traffic during Wednesday's lunch hour.

The San Angelo Police Department issued a nixel, on Apr. 14, asking citizens to avoid two intersections. The first was at Sunset and Sherwood Way while the other was at the corner of Abe and Beauregard.

The crash at Abe and Beauregard was a two vehicle crash that involved a silver Honda Civic and a silver Ford Expedition. Officers on scene confirmed that there were no injuries and that the crash occurred after the Honda ran the red light.

Because of the crash the Expedition drove into the light pole on Beauregard. There does not appear to be extensive damage to the pole. The crash led to multiple lanes of traffic being closed during the lunch hour.

The second crash occurred at the corner of Sunset and Sherwood Way.

Two vehicles with significant damage were observed at the scene. A white pickup had a damaged front while a white SUV had a damaged passenger door.

At this time it is unknown what caused the crash to occur, but both vehicles were removed from the scene with tow trucks.

SAPD closed down one lane in order to allow first responders to clean up the scene.
