Three Killed In Head-On Crash Monday Afternoon

 

DENVER CITY, TX –– The Department of Public Safety has confirmed three people were killed in a head-on crash early Monday afternoon.

According to DPS, troopers were dispatched to County Road 211 shortly before 3:00 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they located a Ford Expedition and a 2500 Chevy pickup truck involved in a crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed the Expedition was traveling northbound on CR 211 when it entered the southbound lane crashing into the pickup head-on.

The driver of the Expedition, 40-year-old Lauren Marin, and a passenger,  64-year-old Rosalva Marin, were pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger, 16-year-old Alexis Zamarippa, was transported to a Lubbock hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
