DPS Confirms Death of Second Passenger in Mereta Fatal Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX – Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sgt. Baker confirmed another death in the crash that occurred near Mereta in the morning of Aug. 16.

"It saddens me to report," stated Sgt. Baker. "Irenia Valdez, 75, of Alvarado, TX has also passed away as a result of the injuries sustained during this morning’s crash."
