Infant Saved from Injury by Proper Car Seat and Large Landscape Boulder

SAN ANGELO, TX – Large boulders placed outside of a Santa Rita home likely saved the house from destruction after a two vehicle crash sent one car in the home's lawn.

According to Officer Kvittem with the San Angelo Police Department, on Mar. 23, 2023 at around 1:45 p.m., officers with the SAPD were dispatched to the intersection of S. Jackson and W. Avenue J for the report of a major crash.

The officer confirmed that that Chevy Equinox and a Ford F-250 with a trailer had crashed in the middle of the intersection. The Equinox was heading west while the truck was heading south. Due to the crash the Equinox was sent into a large landscape boulder situated in front of a house on the corner.

Here is video from the scene:

There was only one injury reported in the crash. The driver of the Equinox was taken to Shannon with non life threatening injuries. The woman who was injured had an infant in the car. That child was in the proper car seat and was not injured.

After the officers investigation, the truck was cited for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
